Concept: Importance of food
General Objective: To develop students’ understanding of importance and sources of food         
Specific objectives: Students will;
1.      state the importance of food
2.       indentify at least five different sources of food       
Resources: Pictures or concrete materials related food, worksheets and reference books
Activities
1.      Show the students with some pictures or concrete materials such as slice, milk, egg, rice, vegetable and ask the students: what are those things called? Then ask another question as why do we need food? 
2.      Explain the importance and sources of food for different animals.
3.       Provide students in groups with worksheets to write food for the given animals. Ask the students to share their completed worksheets with the whole class.                      
Assessment techniques:  students’ presentations, questions/ answers , samples of students’ work,
