Lesson planning is a term comprising two words "lesson" and "planning". Lesson means the implicit message intended to be given in a text or any other learning material. While planning means making a series of interlinked decisions to be implemented for the purpose of achieving desired objectives. Thus, lesson planning is a term defined as the process of making a series of interlinked decisions to deliver an implicit message in a text or in any other learning stuff.

The actual teaching starts when a teacher explores or deduces the implicit message from the subject matter being taught by him/her. The problem lies here whether the teacher has the ability to find out the real, true, and good messages from the content of his/her subject area or not. Lesson planning is used as a strategy that can enhance those abilities among teachers.

A lesson plan consists of some important steps known as setting objectives, warm-up activity followed by the introduction, developmental activities, students' practice activities, overall assessment, sum up, and homework.

Thoughts given mindfully on above mentioned steps by teachers develop critical, analytical, and creative thinking skills. These are the skills that enhance teachers' abilities in their professional practices.
